Channel 36 and Radio Globo were siezed by the military this morning after the de facto regime published a decree suspending five articles of the constitution for 45 days. One part of the decree was intended to shut down media that supports Zelaya.
Both stations were seized at 5:30 am. The military and police immediately began siezing files and equipment and removing them from Radio Globo. Channel 36 was surrounded by the military and its broadcasts stopped . Radio Globo reporters escaped out the emergency exits as over 200 soldiers invaded its offices.

The closure of Radio Globo and Canal 36 is, of course, purely illegal. As noted in an earlier post, Decree-PCM-M-16-2009 has not yet been ratified by Congress. The National Bancada is currently reviewing it ahead of today's scheduled vote.
Today's Tiempo had an article in which the Human Rights prosecutor, Sandra Ponce, was quoted as saying any restrictions on the media were illegal, but no threat to any action on her part.
Radio Globo had been denouncing her for being out of the country on vacation all last week.
not sure if its just a server problem or not, but El Tiempo is down now..
In the past, this message has been a sign of a server problem, but its the kind that's usually resolved quickly. Its been down for at least an hour, now, so I'm concerned.
Radio Globo is still broadcasting on the internet through a new shoutcast server at a different IP address. If you navigate to their web page:
http://radioglobohonduras.com
You should hear their internet broadcast.
Tiempo's problem appears to be another server meltdown. Once or twice I've gotten partial pages to come up, but never a full page.
Radio Globo could broadcast live on http://www.livingscoop.com
Yesterday they were broadcasting on their backup internet server, hosted at a different location in the US. Today they're back on their primary streaming server, where they've always been, as well as their backup one so they should be pretty easy to find.
